Why the name Duali? Why does a tableware brand need to have a concept? I faced my share of questions for the name and concept both. My idea was that in a world that tells us to move faster, Duali should be an invitation to slow down.

Duali comes from "Duality". Our philosophy explores the duality between the chaotic pace of our days and the profound stillness of a shared meal. We believe that food is the medium, but connection is the key. Through our collections, we invite you to reclaim your personal time and celebrate the beautiful, quiet moments that often go unnoticed in the noise of the world. In the rush of life, I too somehow forgot to enjoy those moments which were most dear - my coffee time, shared meals with family and friends and many others. Moments which when you revisit are the only ones you remember.

Duali is one of the only studios in India to insist on the handcrafted process of Porcelain. Why? Because a machine cannot feel the "soul" of the clay. Our artisans spend hours on a single rim, ensuring a seamless experience between the maker and the user. The handcrafted process had a different feel and satisfaction which is felt by both - the maker and the user.

We didn't start Duali to fill cupboards. We started it to honour your 7 AM coffee, the midnight tea, and every shared meal in between. Duali is here to remind you that if the moment is precious, the ware should be, too.
My journal takes you all into the journey of Duali with me. Our struggles, failures, growth and constant reminders to ourselves - all being a part of the Duali community.
Until next time,
Nishi
